I think Ch. 8 is very relevant because it pointed out many practical skills that TCKs adquire over time. Their cross-cultural skills benefited them in that they learned to develop a "global awareness". Some of their social skills include self-confidence and the ability to manage new situations effectively. And last but not least, TCKs have the advantage of being able to adquire fluency in more than one language. Paola :) FOR SURE!! These are extremely valuable skills as the world shrinks and globalization is the 21st century trend.

Not being a TCK I was still able to identify with in Ch 8 with the observational skills. Some of the "unwritten" rules you just have to find out the hard way which can be slightly embarrassing such as greetings, dress, and simple gestures that are inappropriate their culture.
